Brooks, Marlys J. (Rocheleau) Born November 5, 1940, in Minneapolis, departed February 12, 2019 Marlys was gifted at creating and decorating and was the consummate organizer. She found her calling as a daycare provider and created an enviable pre-school curriculum to prepare children for school, including her grandchildren. Pre-schoolers were a source of delight, energy and creativity. Most weekends were spent with family and in nature at the cabin working on various building projects. She enjoyed antiquing and playing 500 to ring in the new year with friends. Preceded in death by parents, Ernie and Hellen Rocheleau, and husband, Bob. She will be dearly missed by children, Jeff (Michelle) Brooks of Belle Plaine, Brendan (Kailyn) Brooks of Anoka, Lisa (Lyle) Eaton of Fort Collins, and grandchildren Nicholas, Alexandra, Brielle, and Dane. Survivors include sister, Colleen (Harry) Look, step-daughter Geralyn (Tony) Libke, and dear friends Judy, Jorun, Helen, and Maxine. Memorials preferred to public television or the Alzheimer's Association. Marlys' final resting place will be next to Bob at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Marlys was a long time supporter of public television. She utilized Sesame Street and Mister Rogers for her daycare as well as watched personal favorites such as This Old House and the Frugal Gourmet
Alzheimer's Association
Marlys began showing signs of Alzheimer's in 2008 and was entering her 12th year of the disease.
