Hoffman, Colleen McHale age 55 of Burnsville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family at her home on February 2, 2019. Born on November 21, 1963 in Hackensack, New Jersey to Robert J. McHale Sr and Roberta Casey McHale (Bobbie). Raised in Minneapolis, Colleen attended Annunciation School and Convent of the Visitation School. She received her B.S. in Business from the University of St. Thomas in 1985, and a Teaching Certificate from St. Catherine University in 1992, both in St. Paul. Colleen's first passion was being a Mom and raising her children, being involved in their school and activities. She was a substitute teacher at Faithful Shephard School in Eagan and worked part-time for many years at Southdale Dayton's in the children's department, where she met lifelong friends. As Billy and Megan grew more independent, Colleen pursued her second passion, which was travel. She was hired first by Sun Country Airlines, and then moved through various customer service roles at US Airlines and finally American Airlines. The Minnesota girl who stayed in her hometown did more travel in her last year than most people do in a lifetime. She thrived on meeting all types of people, was always up for an adventure, and always said "yes" to others in times of need. Colleen loved writing letters, HGTV, and finding the Twin Cities hot spots for coffee or lunch. She will be remembered as an amazing Mom, aunt, sister, colleague and friend, for her kind manner, and hilarious sense of humor. Diagnosed with liver cancer in May 2017, Colleen never complained but rather woke up each day cherishing the gift of life to the fullest. Preceded in death by her father, Robert J. McHale Sr., calling his daughter to heaven nine years to the day of his own death. Colleen is survived by her mother Bobbie McHale, loving children Billy (Colleen) and Megan Hoffman, sister Maureen (Chris) Hood, brother Bob Jr. and adoring nephews Alex and Emmett Hood, and niece Cecilia Hood, as well as many caring aunts and uncles, cousins and countless friends.
