Hoffman (Dodd), Lulu D. Age 87, of Eagan. Formerly of Bloomington, MN. Died peacefully on November 3, 2018 surrounded by all 8 of her children. Lu always put her family and others first. Born in 1931 in a small farming community in Saskatchewan, Canada, Lu was only 12 when her own mother died. After graduating from high school in Saskatoon, Lu decided to move "temporarily" to the United States. She worked at Dayton's department store in downtown Minneapolis. While working at Dayton's she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Hoffman, who also was a Dayton's employee as he worked his way through law school at the University of Minnesota. They were married for 59 years.

Lu was a rare individual who would light up any room the second she entered. She had a vivacious personality that made her sparkle. Never at a loss for words, Lu made everyone feel special. She was a model of kindness, generosity, service and positivity. Lu was a true partner to her husband and vital to the success of Bob's legal career and political service, all while successfully raising 8 children. Lu and Bob truly were a perfectly matched team. She will be deeply missed by all of us here.

Lu is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hoffman; her parents, Thomas & Doris (Winters) Dodd; her brother, Douglas Dodd; and by infant grandsons, Daniel Hoffman, John Hoffman and Joseph Schissel. She is lovingly remembered by her 8 children: Michael (Mary), Patrick (Colleen), Gregory (Amy), Kevin (Sharyn), Mary (Jeet) Singh, Marcia (Brian) Howard, Shelly (Mark) Schissel, Tony (Paula); 16 grandchildren: James, Thomas, Robert, Renee, Lauren, Claire, Ava, Kyle, Cole, Allie and Nick Hoffman, Sarina Singh, Nathan and Haley Howard, Matthew and Riley Schissel; great granddaughter, Quinn Hoffman; her sister, Bernice Randall of Regina, Saskatchewan and by many nieces and nephews.
