Aasen, Joan Claire 62, of Columbia Heights, was welcomed into heaven on Nov. 1, 2018. She is preceded in death by mother, Joanne, baby brother, Frank, loving husband, Mick, and grandson, Luke. She is survived by loving family, father, Edward; step mother, Beverly; daughter, Amy (Jason); son, Jesse; granddaughter, Kaylie; sisters, Janet (David), Marlene, and Jackie (Marlan); brother, Tony (Terri); and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joan was born on Jan. 13, 1956, in Newport, Rhode Island, but shortly after moved to Minnesota, growing up in NE Minneapolis. Joan was devoted to her family, always taking great care of everyone. She was a strong example of faith, always caring for others, a blessing to all, and an example of God's love in this world. She is dearly loved by her family and remembered for her kind and generous heart. She loved children and devoted her life to caring for her own as well as supporting those in need around the world. She was compassionate and selfless. She adored her grandchildren and spent much of her time with them, taking care of them during the day when they were young. Those years will forever hold some of the most cherished memories. She will forever be the best mom and grandma we could ever have wished for. Joan was a bright light in this world and will be greatly missed here, but joyously welcomed home by her loving mom, husband, grandson, brother, and the loved ones who've gone before her.
