Amoth, Gordon 86, formerly of New Brighton, MN and Mesa, AZ passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in Phoenix, AZ. Born April 30, 1932 in Duluth, Minnesota to Louise (Kronstedt) and Melvin Amoth, Gordon lived most of his life in New Brighton with his wife Audrey (Bliss), who after 50 years of marriage preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by his three children: Kevin Amoth (Wendy), Karin McSheffrey and Kristin Amoth; four grandchildren: twins Heidi and Kelly Amoth, Michael (Alyssa) McSheffrey and Diana McSheffrey; and companion Peggy Brauneis. He attended the University of Minnesota and joined Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was in the Army during the Korean War. After retirement, he enjoyed winters in Arizona and summers in Minnesota. Gordy enjoyed a game to excess that he never conquered: golf. He saved all his scorecards and played 657 different golf courses in 47 states, Scotland, Mexico, and Canada!
