Long, Philip R. Sr. 94. Phil died peacefully on October 17, 2018. Phil was born in Fairmont, MN on January 22, 1924. He joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 16 and served over 4 years in WWII and defended Henderson Airfield, Guadalcanal. Phil retired from the Minneapolis Board of Education after 30 years and lived the retired life for 38 years. He is preceded in death by wives, Barbara and Audrey. He is survived by children, Philip (Susan), Charlotte (Dean) Schoen, Barry (Jennifer); step- children, Lana (Dennis) Patraw, Steven (Deb) London; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral service 11:00 AM Thursday, October 25, at Richfield Lutheran Church, 60th Street and Nicollet Ave. Interment Ft. Snelling. Visitation on hour before the service at church.
