Shrell, Zelmar B. Zel, age 87 of St. Louis Park, died peacefully surrounded by his family on September 10th. Zel was born in North Minneapolis and was a proud graduate from North High as well as Talmud Torah. He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Lorraine Shrell and parents, Myron and Etta Shrell; sister, Adye and brother-in-law, Melvin Davis; sister- in-law and brother-in-law, Frances and Seymour Rosen. Zel was known by all as a kind, loyal and positive person and had a zest for life. He got the most joy being with family and friends. In addition, he enjoyed B'nai B'rith bowling, golfing, the city of Minneapolis, going to MN Gopher basketball games, acting in community theater and being a part of the Chai Lite's senior singing group. He was a life-long B'nai B'rith leader and active participant. Zel and Lorraine were instrumental in the conception of the Chevra Kavod Hamet at the Adath Jeshurun Synagogue. He is survived by his daughter, Sue Shrell Leon (David); son, Rob Shrell (Julie); daughter Saralee Shrell-Fox (Paul), and daughter, Etta Barry (Michael). Also, his loving and adoring 14 grandchildren, Jason, Josh (India) and Rebecca Leon, Marissa (fiancé, Josh Kaufman), Simone and Gavin Shrell, Ilana, Maayan (Sharon Fox), Ayala, Einat and Itai Shrell-Fox, Alex, Ben and Jacob Barry; his first great-grandson, Naveh Fox and significant other, Janice Lazarus. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Jerry Segal (Louise) and many nieces and nephews around the world. We would also like to thank special care giver, Jodi Swanson and the many nurses and health care pro- viders from Knollwood Place and Sholom Home. Zaide, we will always love you a bushel and a peck.
