Lucille C. (Gallagher) Curran

Curran, Lucille C. (nee Gallagher) Age 94 of St Paul MN born in Spokane, Washington on February 19, 1924 to Hugh and Marie Anna Gallagher, the fifth of six children and survived by her sister, Mary (Jim) Parker of Shelby, Montana. Lucille met Bob Curran at a swimming pool in Hillyard, Washington as a young girl. They later married and celebrated their 69th anniversary. They have seven children, Patricia Curran Rainer, Robert Michael (Debra), Colleen Curran Cooper, Dennis (Cheryl), Thomas Hugh (Elina), Peggy Mary (Curtis) Letnes, and Kathleen Helen (John) Riley; 23 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. Many of them comforted Lucille in her final days. Lucille attended Holy Names Academy in Spokane, graduating in 1942. She was a Nurse Corp Cadet during World War II and was proud to do her part caring for wounded troops while she was a nursing student. She earned her RN degree from Sacred Heart hospital in 1945 and worked as a nurse much of her life, lovingly giving care to many. Lucille loved to celebrate the holidays and special times with her family and many friends, travel the world over, golf, play tennis, and she especially loved playing the piano, giving many piano concerts. A Mass to celebrate Lucille's life will be held at the Church of St Joseph, 1154 Seminole Ave., West St. Paul, at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 14th. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the Mass.
