Leo Micheal Daly
Daly, Leo Micheal Family and friends surrounded Leo Michael Daly (age 71) on Sunday, July 1 at the University of Minnesota Hospital as he peacefully departed to his next adventure. We remember him as a faithful father to Nicholas & Timothy, a courageous brother to Joe, Mike, Bob, Kevin and John, and a beloved friend to many. He was a warrior, a pilot, a trial lawyer, a teacher, a marathon runner, a skier, a scuba diver, and a traveler. After graduating from Richfield High School, he joined the Air Force and fought in Vietnam, where he earned a number of medals including the National Service Defense Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. After Vietnam, he graduated from the University of Minnesota, taught elementary school at St. Albert's, and earned his Juris Doctorate from The Hamline School of Law. He earned the highest respect of his clients and peers as a skilled trial lawyer at Karon, Jepsen, and Daly as well as Schwebel, Goetz and Sieben Law Firms and was recognized as a Minnesota "Super Lawyer". Exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam, he developed multiple myeloma. This cancer diagnosis came after suffering severe low back pain while running "The Race For the Cure" in memory of a friend who had died from breast cancer. He bravely, and with great class and courage, battled multiple myeloma for 18 years and uplifted those undergoing similar struggles. He was forever grateful to the doctors and nurses who helped him along his journey. We will honor Leo on Friday, July 27 at 3:00 pm at the Church of St. Albert the Great, 2836 33rd Ave. S., in South Minneapolis. After the Memorial Service, we will gather in the church's Social Hall and share "Lee stories," of which there are so many. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Vietnam Veterans of America in Leo Daly's name. Washburn-McReavy.com Davies Chapel 612-377-2203
