Bernice Vernicka 'Bea' Steeber

Steeber, Bernice "Bea" Vernicka Longtime resident of Isle, MN passed away on June 16, 2018. She was the youngest and last surviving of 13 children born to Stanislow and Theodora Stegora of Harding, MN. She wed George Steeber on October 20, 1951 in Minneapolis. They raised their family in New Hope, MN and permanently moved to Mille Lacs Lake after George's retirement. Bea was a devout Catholic and member of Sacred Heart Church in Wahkon, MN. She loved all things outdoors, especially the lake. You could find her fishing until sunset nearly every evening. Bea was an avid hunter and looked forward to opening weekend each fall. Bea loved playing cribbage with family and friends. Mother to Marilyn (Timothy) Condoluci and Steven Steeber; grandmother to Lisa (Robert), Kyla (Bryan), Crystal (Anthony), James (Brittany), and Kalena. She is survived by thirteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, George. She will be fondly remembered by many in the community. We anticipate a full recovery of the Mille Lacs walleye population with her passing. The family would like to acknowledge Sunrise of Golden Valley and Brighton Hospice for their loving care and support in the final chapter of her life.
