Wyer, Joan Grife Age 88, of Spring Park, MN, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2018. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 29, 1930 to Mabel (Larson) and Glenn Grife. Joan was preceded in death by her husband David Glenn Wyer, her daughter Caroline Binger and her sister Lois Tipping. She graduated from West High School and Carleton College where she received a BA in Psychology. She lived her entire life in the Lake Minnetonka area and was an active and involved member of Lake Minnetonka Garden Club, Gopher Brokers (an investment club) and a number of other local charities and community organizations. She was a member of Woodhill Country Club. Joan was a fun loving and playful spirit, devoted to her friends and family. Her hobbies included bridge, golf and simply having fun. She was an avid traveler who generously included her entire family on three amazing trips to Alaska, Mexico and the Galapagos Islands where her love for adventure, the beauty of nature and animals was passed down to her children and grand-children. Joan is survived by her sons, David G. Wyer, Jr. (Ann) of Wayzata, and Glenn (Skip) L. Wyer (Beth) of Wayzata; daughter, Lucy Anne Wyer of Marin County, CA; her grandchildren, Sydne (Chris) Henningsen, Mason Douglass, Erin Wyer, Kingman Douglass, Sam Wyer, Ellen Douglass, Matthew Wyer, Aidan Wyer and Isabel Wyer and three great grandchildren. A memorial service and luncheon will be held on Friday June 22, 2018 at 11:00 am, with visitation at 10:00 am, at Presbyterian Homes, 4515 Shoreline Drive, Spring Park, MN. A private interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Presbyterian Homes Foundation or donor's choice.
