Larson, Doris Stewart Our dearly loved mother, age 99, of Northfield (formerly Chanhassen) passed away May 14, 2018. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Russell Henry Larson; beloved son, James; parents, Alta Fern (nee Stanley) and Earl Arthur Stewart; three brothers, Homer, Robert, and Donald Stewart; and one sister, Mary Jane Postels. Survived by daughters, Margaret (Peter) Birse & Catherine Larson (Stephen Albers); son David Larson (friend Diane Bryan); and grandsons, Nathan and Anthony Larson. Doris spent many happy years in the company of bright and lively children, first with her four siblings and later with her four children. She had a lifelong passion for learning through books and travel. She cultivated beauty in her gardens, needlework, and photography. She enjoyed the opera, orchestra, theatre, and baseball. Doris was active in three photography clubs into her 80s, and she participated in bridge, bowling, and singing groups when she was younger. The family expresses their deep gratitude to staff at the Northfield Hospital, Long Term Care Center, for their loving care of Doris for the past 5 1/2 years. Private service.
