Peterson, Wallace K. 88, of Bloomington, MN, passed peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, after a variety of recent health com plications. Wally was born on August 10, 1929, to Virgil and Nellie Peterson in Minneapolis, MN, and married Doris Solberg on April 22, 1950. Wally served in the US Army from 1952-54 at Fort Eustis, VA, and Doris joined him there before they eventually moved back to MN. In 1955, they built their home in Bloomington (still reside there today) and raised their family. Wally was employed by Northern States Power (NSP) for 43 years as a Meter Reader and was well liked by everyone. He enjoyed softball, hunting, fishing, horseshoes, sports, collecting and wearing hats and Nascar racing. He was known to hit up a few garage sales in his day job, and had a fun trinket for nearly every occasion. He supported his kids and grandkids in their sports and activities, and was always their biggest fan. Wally was loving, and fun loving, and his family will miss his incredible sense of humor, even in his last days. He also had the fullest, thickest head of hair, hands down, of any 88 year old and even many under 30's. Wally is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Doris Peterson, daughter Debbie (Dennis) McTighe of Glencoe MN, son Tom (Julie) Peterson of Chaska MN, and his 3 grandchildren Erica, Ashley, and Rachel Peterson, as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Nellie Peterson, son Terry Peterson, and brother Dick Peterson. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 1st at 10:00 am at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave S, Edina, MN. The service will start at 11:00 am followed by a lunch and the Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. cremationsocietyofmn.com If you chose, memorials may be made in Wally's name to the Salvation Army or donor's choice.
