Law, Alvena F. Passed away peacefully, April 13, 2018 at age 101. She was born in Ming, Iowa to Virgil and Goldie Henderson. Preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Virgil Louis and Dwight; her three children, Nancy, Patricia, & Shirley; and her companion, Chet Pringle. Alvena lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, she loved to dance and the music that went with it, golfing with friends at the U of M golf course. She liked to fish and when her children were little she would take them to Lake Independence on Sundays to hopefully catch their dinner. Minnehaha Falls was another favorite. When dinner clubs were popular she had a membership to Diamond Jims an also liked to go to the Edgewater Inn. She liked cards and Bingo. She enjoyed the holidays and at Christmas time she would make a mouthwatering Divinity candy. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Alvena was a member of the N.E. United Methodist Church, Suburban Hills Women's Club, and Eastern Star #212. Alvena had a smile for everyone and she was so kind and gracious. Everywhere she went, she made a friend. Wonderful, caring friends who knew her for years. She so appreciated the visits, calls, cards, lunches, and coffee days. She loved all of you and the times you spent together. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who shared her life. Alvena is survived by her grand- children, Christine (Eric), Denise (Terry), Richard, Shari, Renee (Ted), Jim (Laura), and Anne (Steve); and great-grandchildren, David, Jake, Emily, Joe, Tricia, Kate, Sean, Caroline, Jack, and Sarah.
