Stenger, Penny Donovan Age 76 of St. Paul passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on March 23. Penny was a graduate of the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul where she majored in English and Library Science, an experience she treasured for the rest of her interesting life. She especially enjoyed the many class reunions she attended. She was a voracious reader and she was always in the midst of reading two or more books at any given time. Penny especially enjoyed her Irish heritage and an occasional Irish coffee during the winter months. She enjoyed traveling, especially her three trips to Ireland. Her canine companions Poppy, Shanna, Diamond, June and Angel provided her wonderful memories. Penny was truly an amazing person with great enthusiasm, boundless energy, and an eternally positive outlook. Her radiant smile and positive attitude warmed the hearts of all who knew her. Her sharp mind, outgoing personality, incredible memory for facts and dates, generosity, loyalty and strength of character were deeply inspirational. She treated everyone she met with kindness and respect and was always appreciative of those around her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas F. and Aurora (Lindbeck) Donovan. Penny will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 48 years, George W. "Bill" Stenger. At Penny's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Annual Fund St. Catherine University, 2004 Randolph Ave, F-12, St. Paul, MN 55105. As requested by Penny, no services will be held. Special thanks to Dr. Deborah Swendroski, Mitzi and Bernie for their outstanding medical care for many years, as well as the very caring TCU Staff at Episcopal Church Homes for their loving care and support. Penny was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
