Burke, John Michael December 9, 1963-March 20, 2018 Our Johnny lived life by the Golden Rule. He exemplified the goodness in humanity. John was a kindhearted person who lived a life of integrity, gratitude, humility, empathy, generosity, compassion and hope. John genuinely cared. Our family is fiercely proud of John's courageous and relentless determination to overcome his depression. Sadly, effort, energy and boundless love were overwhelmed by mental illness and he took his life. John cherished his family ("such family" he'd say), his friends and his dogs. He gave and received much love. We will miss his humor, his smile and his breadth of fine qualities. We are blessed to have shared his life. God and Dad now embrace John's beautiful and kind soul. We honor John by being gentle with ourselves and kind to one another. Preceded by father, Dr. Roger Burke.
