Mathias, Sharon Lee Age 71, of Bettendorf, IA, formerly of St. Paul passed away unexpectedly from a cardiac event Thursday, Mar. 1, 2018. Sharon was born on April 13, 1946 in St. Paul, Minnesota, a daughter of Carl and Violenta (Justin) Mathias. She graduated from St. Catherine's College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in Mathematics. Sharon worked for the federal government for over 35 years as a systems analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal retiring in 2008. Sharon had a great love of crosswords and reading. She also volunteered at the Community of Joy Food Pantry. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leda Connor. Sharon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Mathias and Bobby Ghandehari; grandsons, Drew and Drake Ghandehari all of Ladera Ranch, California; a sister, Shirley (Jose) Gallardo, St. Paul, Minnesota, and a brother, Charles (Marilyn) Mathias, Chandler, Arizona. Services to celebrate Sharon's life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at O'Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home, 575 South Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota. Visitation one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
