Goedken, Virginia M. "Kitty" (Fasbender), 86 years old of Eagan, MN. Died March 16, 2018. Kitty was born in Vermillion, MN. She was a graduate of Hastings H.S., and the College of St. Teresa, Winona, where she received a B.A. in English, History and Education. In her senior year she met Ronald Goedken, the love of her life, at St. Mary's College nearby. She married Ron in 1954 and shared a very happy marriage for 56 years until Ron died in 2010. Kitty was a teacher, a devoted wife, an affirming mother and grandmother who cherished her family. She was a supportive partner for her husband's career in education. Her hobbies included music, socializing with her friends and studying books related to faith, family and education. As a member of the Church of St. John Neumann she enjoyed bible study, Capstone, daily Mass, and all the caring friends and staff. Kitty trusted that the mercy and love of Jesus was with their family in joy and in sorrow. Survived by daughter Ann Edwardson (John), sons Ronald J. (Susan), Robert (Carolyn), grandchildren Kate and Eric Edwardson and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by loving husband Dr. Ronald E. Goedken, daughter Mary, sisters Mary Jane Poepl (Rusty), Dorothy Burr (Steve), Lois Schoen (Dick) and parents Louis and Elizabeth. Memorial Mass 11AM Friday, March 23rd at the CHURCH OF ST. JOHN NEUMANN, 4030 Pilot Knob Rd. in Eagan with a Gathering 1 hour prior to the Mass. Private family entombment.
