Bender, Helen L. (nee Severson) Age 94. Passed away 3/13/18 at Southview Acres in W. St. Paul. Previously of S. Mpls. and Burnsville. Born in Arcadia, WI. Preceded in death by husband William and sister-in-law, Virginia. Helen is survived by brother, Russell Severson, many nieces and nephews. Helen felt honored to be a nurse and retired from the VA Medical Center. She was a dedicated volunteer at Fairview Southdale Hospital, devoted to her church and loved the Twin Cities music and arts scene. She enjoyed a good game of Scrabble with her friends at Walker Place. Funeral service Thursday 10:30 AM at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church 3045 Chicago Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service at church. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Church or The National Kidney Foundation.
