Fred John 'Skip' Stark, Jr.

Stark, Fred John Jr. "Skip" Fred John "Skip" Stark, Jr., was a devoted husband to his wife, Carol, an inspiring father to his son John (Tara), his daughters, Susan (Mike) Hilt, and Genny (Geoff) Soper. He was also a loving grandfather to Amanda, Jacquie and Johnny Stark, Charlie, Calvin and Sawyer Hilt, and Clay (deceased), Ted and Allie Soper. After 83 years on earth, Fred passed away on February 3, surrounded by his wife and children. In addition to his love for his wife and family, Fred's passions included: his fondness for sharing his indefatigable sense of humor; his alma matter, Wabash College; chemistry; the log cabin he built with his family, next to the Superior National Forest; his adhesives business, Rubber Research Elastomerics, Inc.; and his 1920s-era soda fountain. Although he never learned to sail or ski before his children were born, he learned to do both and made it possible for his family to enjoy sailing and skiing to this day. He crossed the finish line of life, a little banged up, with spent tires, an empty tank, a crowd of adoring fans, and a smile on his face! At Fred's request, the immediate family will gather for a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Struthers Parkinson's Center - the place that helped Fred every step of the way during his 12 year journey with Parkinson's Disease.
