Stephen Henry Ojalvo

Ojalvo, Stephen Henry 27 years old, of Shoreview, MN, passed away suddenly the morning of January 20, 2018. Stephen's calling in life was as a home health aide, where he cared for clients and their families. Just like his smile and laugh, his love for life were contagious and brought joy to those around him. However, as he lived his life, his heart was found to be two sizes too large. Stephen was an avid runner with the Minnesota Distance Running Association (MDRA) and completed dozens of marathons. Last year, he fulfilled longstanding dreams to run the New York City Marathon, and to complete his college degree (Dakota County Technical College). He provided encouragement for his immediate and running families that you could always take one more step - even if it required a chocolate milk mustache to do it. Stephen is survived by his loving parents, Mary Rose Drabik and Howard Alan Ojalvo; his siblings Laureen Sue (PJ Maglione), Katherine Janette (Jack Cambest, parents of Henry and Rosalie), Isobel Rose, Daniel Howard Nissim, and James Lynn; as well as his grandfather Morris Ojalvo. He will be joining his grandparents Rosemary & Henry Drabik, and Anita Ojalvo, as well as his beloved dog, Snickerdoodle. Memorial service 1PM FRIDAY January 26 at HODROFF-EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 123 East Franklin Ave., Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, MDRA is setting up a fund in Stephen’s name to bring those facing obstacles into the running family. Here are 2 ways to make donations: 1) go to any Wells Fargo and donate to Stephen Ojalvo Outreach Fund 2) Write a check to "Stephen Ojalvo Outreach Fund" and mail to MDRA: P.O. Box 6419 Mpls MN 55406. We would be honored if you were to contribute to this fund or another charity in his honor. We are all so proud of him and miss him dearly.
