Hollis, Fred J. age 67 of Minneapolis was taken home the morning of Jan. 19th and we are grateful for his peace. Fred was a brave soul who battled illness for the past three years. He survived many instances with the odds stacked against him. A true miracle. Fred had a tough exterior, but he was a kind and loyal man. He will be truly missed. Fred's favorite place to be was Park Rapids, Minn., where he and his loving wife built their own cabin. Many memories were made on the lake in the sunshine. Fred was a dedicated, longtime employee of Hopkins ISD 270. Fred loved hunting, fishing, country music and all of his four-legged friends. Fred and Barbara rescued many dogs during their marriage, and made them part of their family. A true testament to his inner loving qualities. Preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy & Francis Hollis; sister-in-law, Susan (Fischer) Peterson; brother-in-law, Dick Fischer; parents-in-law, Mary & Andrew Fischer. Survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Fischer) Hollis; daughters, Wendy (Scott) Burrows & Angie (Karen Graham) Hollis; grandsons, Brandon & Connor Burrows; brother, George Hollis; brothers-in-law, Charles Peterson, Andy (Roseann Boehlke) Fischer; many nieces, nephews, family & friends. A special thank you to the staff at North Memorial S6 ICU for their gentle care and concern for Fred and family, including his special four legged friend, Bella during his last few weeks of life. Memorial service 1 PM Monday, Jan. 29th at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway, Robbinsdale. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery.
