DeGross, Lorna Phyllis of Mounds View, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Jan 14 (3 weeks shy of 95th birthday). The last of her family's "greatest generation," Lorna was born in San Diego, CA, in 1923. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Ambrose; parents Ruben & Lydia Suckow, 2 sisters, a brother, dear grandson Demetrius & dog Ivy. Left to cherish memories are children Candace Burns (Peter), Gloria Varas (Enrique), Gary, Dan (Pam), Keith (Deb), 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and cat Spunky. Lorna was a MV Lioness and loved to cook and crochet, and never came empty handed to a gathering. An avid traveler, her many adventures took her to Galapagos Islands, Machu Picchu & Australia among others. A long- time volunteer at the Nature Center, Science Museum, and MN Zoo, her love of nature and dedication to the environment were an inspiration. Lorna's charity, creativity and craftiness will be missed by all. Funeral service 11:00 AM Tuesday at the KOZLAK-RADULOVICH BLAINE CHAPEL (107th Ave. NE & HWY 65, Blaine).
