McDaniel, Ray E. (October 15, 1921 - January 13, 2018) age 96, of Rosemount, Minnesota, passed away January 13, 2018. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma. His family then moved to Tulsa, Okla homa, where he lived until he met the love of his life, Kay McDaniel. Ray graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1942 as an airline service mechanic. He was then hired by Northwest Airlines and met Kay while working for Northwest in Edmonton, Alberta (Kay's hometown). Ray served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed at numerous bases in Canada and the United States during the War. Ray and Kay were married on May 21, 1945 in Corpus Christi Texas and eventually settled in Rosemount, Minnesota. Ray continued to work for Northwest Airlines after the War and retired from Northwest in 1983. Ray and Kay raised two boys, Raymond and Robert. Ray was highly skilled and talented. He could fix anything. He will always be remembered for his woodworking skills, and being a kind hearted and loving curmudgeon. Preceded in death by wife (Kay) and son (Raymond). Survived by son Robert (Rebecca), as well as other family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday January 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Church of St. Joseph, 13900 Biscayne Ave. W., Rosemount, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to The Rosemount (Ray's home) or Church of St. Joseph.
