Smetana, Viola Rynchek "Vicky" age 92, formerly of Mpls., passed away peacefully Jan. 10, 2018. Born in Minneapolis to Alexander and Anna Rynchek. Graduate of West High School, member of Tri Psi Sorority and VFW Auxiliary. Preceded in death by husband, Angus; siblings, Barbara (Harold) March, Evelyn (Robert) Ogilvie, Sylvia (Elmer) Schlueter, Lawrence, Louis (Janice) and Irving Rynchek; in-laws, William (Mary) Smetana. Survived by children, Teresa (Duane) Gasser, Gregory (Martha) Smetana, Marlene (Chuck) Smith and Kendrick Smetana (Lisa Swanson); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; in-laws, Esther (Don) Giesel, Jane McDonald and Carolyn Rynchek; many nieces, nephews, loving and caring friends. Mass of Christian Burial 3:00 PM Friday, Jan. 12, with visitation starting at 1:00 PM at St. Gabriel the Archangel - St. Joseph Campus, 1310 Mainstreet, Hopkins. Private interment Fort Snelling.
