Linda Marie Kahn

Kahn, Linda Marie I was given the gift of life, and now I have to give it back. This is hard. But I know I led a life with the philosophy that we only have today; yesterday is gone and tomorrow is uncertain. That's why they call it the present, which is how I want to be remembered by: Being Present. I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2014. When the cancer returned in February 2016 and was terminal, I decided to live an exciting life fulfilling all my dreams, rather than being sad about having to die. It was the toughest fight of my life and I was constantly in pain, but it was a battle I wanted to fight until the end. Amazingly, I continued outliving my prognosis, not letting cancer define me. I was a hard worker, and am proud of the 40+ years in the insurance industry. I ended my career at Allstate Insurance which led me to hundreds of friendships and allowed me to teach thousands of students over a decade. I loved to travel with my family, ride bike with my husband Cliff, go camping with my son Nick & grandson Henry, and relax under the sun with my daughter Steph. Although I truly was able to have all my dreams come true, cancer is powerful and now that the suffering is over, I am at peace. I am in a place where I have rejoined the spirit, soul & energy of my son Elliot Dircz, my brother Charlie Gettler, and my parents Maynard & Melva Gettler, along with many other loved ones. I am Linda Marie Kahn, age 65 and I peacefully left the world on Saturday January 6th, 2018 in the comfort of my own home. I was born June 4th 1952 in the small town of Sherburn, MN and lived the last couple years of my life in a cozy home in Burnsville, MN with my soul mate Cliff, and our dogs Andy & Kona. I am survived by my spouse Clifford Anderson, son Nicholas Dircz (wife Gina), daughter Stephanie Wilson (husband Nick), grandson Henry Dircz, stepson Cale Anderson, stepdaughter Carly Anderson-Stewart (husband Ollie), stepson Tyler Anderson, sister Judy Intlekofer, sister-in-law Betty Gettler, brother John Gettler (wife Nancy). Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM Friday, January 12 with a Memorial Service at 11 AM on Saturday, January 13 with a lunch to follow the service all at: Washburn-McReavy.com Dawn Valley Chapel 952-941-7686 9940 Bush Lake Rd.
