Frost, John K. (Jack) "Mr. Bones" 84 of Forest Lake, passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Dec. 26, 2017. He was born May 28, 1933 to Joe and Anna Frost. Jack was very proud that he grew up on Rice St. in St. Paul, with a very large and extended family. He was a graduate of Washington High School where his desire to be a performer blossomed. Jack was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Murray DD-576 from 1951-55 during the Korean Conflict. He was a Journeyman Pressman and Foreman at the Mpls Star & Tribune for 46 years. He is probably best known for his "Bones" playing skill. His mastery of this instrument has delighted crowds everywhere - a born performer & drummer, always ready to share a joke or two, the Bones in his back pocket with a smile on his face. Jack was also an accomplished wood carver later in life. He has made countless pieces that he gifted to others and his well known "Love Spoons" are owned by many. He took pride in teaching the art of carving to young and old alike. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe, and 1st wife Nancy. Survived by his wife Greta, sister Marianne, children: John Jr. (Laura) Frost, Scott Frost, Sean (Lisa) Frost and Melissa (Joe) Gotchnik along with 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandsons and his step-children: Deb, Bill, Scott, Michael, Amy, & Susan, and their children. A celebration of his life will be held at Maranatha Assembly of God, 24799 Forest Blvd N, Forest Lake MN 55025 beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
