Theft. A license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 15200 block of Zurich Street NE.

FRIDLEY

Animal complaint. Officers responded to a report of a large snake in an apartment in the 5800 block of East River Road NE. The resident showed the officers a photo of the snake, but they were unable to find it. The resident said she would call animal control in the future.

HAM LAKE

MARCH 26

Vandalism. Bleach was poured into the gas tank of a vehicle in the 4900 block of 170th Lane NE.

LAKE ELMO

MARCH 10

Traffic. A deputy noticed a vehicle following so close behind him in the 3900 block of Manning Avenue that he had to pull over and let it pass in order to see the license plate. He then stopped the driver, who said he didn't know why he was being stopped and didn't realize he had been tailgating a squad car. The deputy pointed out that the squad car was fully marked and cited the driver for following too close.

LAUDERDALE

MARCH 15

Traffic. A 16-year-old boy was cited and arrested for careless driving and speeding in the area of Larpenteur Avenue and Pleasant Street.

MAPLEWOOD

MARCH 12

Fleeing an officer. Police spotted a man riding a bicycle without lights at 3 a.m. in the area of Furness Street and Holloway Avenue. When they turned around and activated their lights, the man sped up and eventually got off the bike and started running. Officers caught him after he refused several orders to stop. He said he didn't stop because he thought the officer was someone else and he was afraid he would be killed. He was booked for fleeing police.

Theft. Two women stole seven pairs of shoes from a store in the 1800 block of County Road D.

Drugs. A 19-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for possession of marijuana and stolen property following a traffic stop at Bronson Drive and Groveland Road.

MARCH 16

Theft. A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire was stolen from the 7700 block of Silver Lake Road.

MARCH 17

Assault. Officers responded to a report of two employees fighting at Holiday, 2732 Mounds View Blvd. They arrested a 34-year-old Bloomington woman for assault.

NEW BRIGHTON

MARCH 11

Disorderly conduct/obstructing legal process. Police responded to a report of a disturbance in the 2100 block of W. County Road E and arrested a 21-year-old man for disorderly conduct and obstructing the legal process.

OAK GROVE

MARCH 22

Burglary. Light fixtures were taken from a home under construction in the 3900 block of 192nd Lane NW.

PINE SPRINGS

MARCH 11

Pedestrian concern. A man was reported walking at 5 a.m. on Hwy. 36 west of Hilton Trail. He told authorities that he had just been released from jail and was walking home to St. Paul because he didn't have a ride. A deputy gave him a courtesy ride home.
