Traffic accident. One cow was killed and another injured after a vehicle ran into them on 30th Street near Neal Avenue. The driver reportedly was unable to see the cows because of dark and snowy conditions. The vehicle was totaled.

ANDOVER

Theft. A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of 142nd Avenue NW.

FALCON HEIGHTS

DEC. 17

Theft. A customer at a gas station in the 1300 block of Larpenteur Avenue reported that a backpack containing a laptop computer was stolen from his vehicle when he went inside to pay.

DEC. 18

Burglary. A group selling Christmas trees at Falcon Heights Community Park, 2050 Roselawn Av., reported that someone broke into the park building and took an empty cash box.

HAM LAKE

Theft. A snowblower was stolen from the 14300 block of Waconia Street NE.

MAPLEWOOD

DEC. 16

Animal complaint. Police responding to a report of barking dogs in the backyard of a home in the 2200 block of County Road D issued a citation to their owner.

NEW BRIGHTON

DEC. 18

Theft. A vehicle left unattended while being warmed up was stolen in the 800 block of County Road D. The car was recovered later in St. Paul.

NEWPORT

DEC. 18

Suspicious activity. While a deputy was checking on a vehicle stuck in a snowbank in the 2000 block of Bailey Court, a couple drove up claiming that it was theirs and then fled after being told to stay there. The stuck vehicle was determined to have been involved in a burglary in St. Paul.

RAMSEY

DEC. 6

Assist public. Officers responded to a public assistance call at a home in the 5400 block of Sunwood Dr. NW. An officer helped a 28-year-old woman close her garage door.

Suspicious activity. An employee at a business in the 14000 block of St. Francis Boulevard NW. reported being concerned that someone was inside when she arrived because the alarm wasn't set and she could hear "Christmas bells" ringing. An officer checked the business and found no one there.

DEC. 8

Suspicious activity. Officers responded a report of a man walking in the woods in the 8400 block of 167th Lane NW., in an area where there had been issues with poachers. A 25-year-old man was arrested for discharge of a firearm, carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol and violation of a safety ordinance.

ST. ANTHONY

DEC. 12

Theft. A bottle of lotion valued at $63 was stolen from the front counter of Totally Tan, 3910 Silver Lake Road. After viewing security footage, a 35-year-old woman was identified as the suspect.

DEC. 23

Theft. Officers responded to a report of employee theft at Cub Foods, 3930 Silver Lake Road. A 51-year-old was arrested for theft after security footage showed the suspect taking $300 out of a cash register.
