The love of cat videos gave fans a chance to pitch in and help the show go on after the screen collapsed Thursday night at the Internet Cat Video Festival.

Volunteers jumped in to help crews restore the screen to its upright position to the Walker Art Center's outdoor space after it went down at the event, sponsored by Animal Planet.

Witnesses said it happened about 40 minutes before the videos were to scheduled to start at dusk. It took about 10 minutes to get the screen back in position, and the start of the videos was not delayed.

It was another feel-good aspect to the third year of the event, which last year was at the State Fair grandstand and required a $10 ticket on top of fair admission.
