A woman who crashed her car near her western Wisconsin home and whose body ended up in a nearby lake was extremely intoxicated at the time of the crash and died from drowning, authorities said.

Kristelle M. Wolle, 38, had been out Saturday night with friends and almost made it home early Sunday, when she drove her car into a power pole down the street from her house, the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday. A search located her body hours later in Pine Lake behind her home north of Baldwin.

The Ramsey County medical examiner's office ruled that Wolle had drowned and that her blood alcohol content was 0.216 percent, more than 2 ½ times the legal limit for driving in Wisconsin.

Wolle, married and the mother of five children, worked for UnitedHealth Group's Optum division and also taught college business classes online, according to her family. She was a 1992 Anoka High School graduate with degrees from St. Mary's and Bethel universities.
