In the first ACC/Big Ten Challenge under new coach Lindsay Whalen, the Gophers will be host to Syracuse on Nov. 29 at Williams Arena in the first meeting ever between the schools, it was announced Monday.

The Gophers are 4-7 all-time in the event, including a 3-2 mark at home. Minnesota is 25-17 against teams currently in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Minnesota, led by All-Big Ten player Kenisha Bell and conference freshman of the year Destiny Pitts, is coming off a 24-9 season that ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse was 22-9 overall last year and reached the NCAA tournament for the 10th time in program history.

DeLaSalle guard picks Stanford

Point guard Tyrell Terry, who averaged 17 points and seven assists as a junior at DeLaSalle, told 247Sports on Sunday that he will attend Stanford. The 2019 four-star prospect also considered Baylor, Indiana, Minnesota and Xavier, among others.

• Gophers pitcher Max Meyer will compete for a spot on the 24-man roster of the USA Baseball collegiate national team, which will play Cuba and Japan. Meyer pitched in 23 games as a Gophers freshman and tied the school record with 16 saves.

• Manager George Tsamis remained at 999 career victories as the host Saints stranded the tying run in scoring position in the eighth and ninth innings in a 5-4 loss to Fargo-Moorhead. Jayce Boyd had a three-run homer for St. Paul.
