'Swan Lake'
Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" is possibly the best-known ballet of all time, with its story of a princess-turned-swan. The 1875 premiere was a flop, though, panned for being "too complicated" and badly produced. It then went through numerous edits, including the additional pas de deux and revamped choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov — still used to this day. Metropolitan Ballet's production features Anastasia Fedorova, a Moscow Ballet Academy-trained guest artist who shined in past appearances with the group. She'll play the dual roles of Odette and Odile, with a live accompaniment by the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra.
