Augusta, Ga.

Picking winners at major golf tournaments is silly. So instead of throwing out a pick for Sunday at The Masters, I"ll offer reasons each of the contenders could win.

T1 Justin Rose: Has won a major and a gold medal. May have the steadiest game of any of the leaders. May be least likely to make a big mistake.

T1 Sergio Garcia: Theoretically has too much ability to never win a major. He's 37, seems more mature and his ball flight plays well in any conditions.

3 Rickie Fowler: May have the best combination of accurate driving and deft putting. Like Sergio, has too much game and has had too many close misses to imagine him not winning a major.

T4 Jordan Spieth: With a little more luck could be sitting on three straight Masters wins and has shot 69 and 68 in his rounds that didn't include a 9 this week. Loves playing here, has played here better than any other player in his first round Masters.

T4 Ryan Moore: Can play the role of sleeper. Hits it very straight.

T4 Charley Hoffman: Don't like his chances. The first-round 65 is what has him in this position.

7: Adam Scott: Brilliant ball-striker who could take advantage of the par 5s if his putter is on.

It's another beautiful day with light breezes at Augusta National. Enjoy the tooonie.
