Maple Grove's Taylor Sieve made it to the finals of Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" show, but did not win the title of "America's Favorite Dancer."
The 19-year-old graduate from Maple Grove High School was beaten out for the grand prize by Lex Ishimoto.
Before the winner was announced, the show took a two-hour stroll down memory lane where each judge picked two memorable routines from the season that they wanted to see again.
In the end, Sieve placed third. Second place went to Koine Iwasaki.
On last week's episode of the popular dance show, it was revealed that Sieve and Ishimoto were actually in a relationship. They then danced a passionate contemporary dance about two people in love, created by Emmy-winning choreographer Mia Michaels. On Monday night, the couple re-created one of their most popular dances of the season, a jazz number to "An American in Paris," and threw in a few impromptu smooches.
Following the finale, Sieve returned to the dance studio early Tuesday morning to rehearse for the upcoming live tour of "So You Think You Can Dance." The tour will cross the nation from Oct. 5 to Nov. 19, but will not be coming to Minnesota. The closest location is the Oct. 5 Chicago stop.
The 2016 Maple Grove Senior High graduate has been dancing since she was 5 years old. She trained and danced competitively at the renowned Larkin Dance Studio in Maplewood for six years.
As a senior, Sieve won the title of Best Senior Female Dancer at the prestigious Dance Awards National Dance Competition in Las Vegas. She has been living in Hollywood, pursuing a career as a professional dancer.
