A Minneapolis man has been charged in connection with an attack last weekend on a group of women in a downtown Minneapolis parking ramp.

Benjamin Love, 45, was charged Friday in Hennepin County District Court with first-degree assault and three counts of aggravated robbery after the women were assaulted in Ramp B around 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the county attorney's office. Police who responded to a 911 call found three women helping a fourth who had been stabbed in the chest, according to the criminal complaint.

The four women were walking back to their car in the parking ramp Saturday night when Love joined them in the elevator. When they got off on the fourth floor, he followed them.

Love, who had a knife, then stabbed one woman in the chest and slashed the hand of another, according to the complaint. He fled with a purse as the women drove to the second floor to await police.

The woman who was stabbed in the chest remained hospitalized Friday in serious condition.

Love will make his first court appearance Monday.
