Indianapolis – The Lynx got revenge Wednesday afternoon for last week's loss to Indiana, defeating the Fever 87-65.
The loss dropped the Fever's record to 2-18.
Sylvia Fowles led the Lynx with 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. It was her league-leading 13th double-double of the season. Maya Moore added 19 points.
"It's always intentional to get Syl involved," Moore said. "She did a great job playing with so much poise, perfect combination of poise and aggression. She was amazing tonight with 20, 10 and seven. Just being able to find her teammates and I'm glad we were able to knock some shots down for her when she kicked it out."
Fowles, who had eight points in the previous game against the Fever, admitted the team's offense has struggled in losing two of the past three.
"We knew we were going to have to make our own breaks," the 6-6 center said. "They crowded the paint on me a lot, and I got some open looks to our guards on the perimeter. [And] they made sure they got me back inside. So it was give take."
Coach Cheryl Reeve said the Lynx had a couple good days of practice after Saturday's road loss at Chicago.
"We were pretty focused and hard to play against [today]," she said. "But 29 [assists, a season high] on 33 [baskets] was kind of the story of the game.
"Sylvia Fowles was aggressive early in the game, and it really caused them to collapse aggressively and they just dared our other players to make shots and we did."
Danielle Robinson made personal history for the Lynx when she hit the first three-point shot of her WNBA career midway through the first quarter. She had missed her previous 39 attempts dating to 2011. She hit a second three-pointer in the fourth and finished with 15 points and five assists.
The Lynx played without starting forward Rebekkah Brunson, sidelined because of a thigh injury, and reserve forward Cecilia Zandalasini, who has an ankle injury.
The visitors shot 51.6 percent from the field and that percentage would have been higher if not for Endy Miyem, who started in place of Brunson, going 1-for-9.
"[The Lynx] did 90 percent of the same things as last week," Fever coach Pokey Chatman said. "We didn't. When you don't do the right things against a hungry, veteran team, they're going to punish you. That's what happened."
