LAS VEGAS – Odyssey Sims put in another strong practice game for the Lynx on Sunday. Now practice is about over.

Sims scored 25 points in 25 minutes, leading the Lynx past the Las Vegas Aces 79-75 in their final preseason game of the season. The Lynx went 2-0, and they open the regular season Saturday against the Chicago Sky.

Sims, acquired from Los Angeles during an offseason of change for the Lynx, also led the team in scoring in the first preseason game, with 20 points in an 86-79 victory over Washington.

Odyssey Sims career statistics

Sims didn't start, and that gave the Lynx a big edge in points off the bench, 48-14. She shot 10-for-20 and added four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Her 25 points were the most by a Lynx player in a preseason game since Seimone Augustus scored 26 vs. Seattle in 2006.

Center Sylvia Fowles added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Lynx on Sunday, and guard Lexie Brown, added by the Lynx in April, had 10 points and seven assists.

Liz Cambage, the 6-foot-8 center who was acquired in a trade from Dallas last week, did not play for the Aces. Cambage was the runner-up for MVP in the league last season to Breanna Stewart. Kayla Mcbride led Las Vegas with 18 points.

The Lynx trailed by eight at halftime, and the deficit reached 14 points, 50-36, with seven minutes left in the third quarter. But the Aces got sloppy, and when the quarter ended, after the Lynx had scored 10 points off six turnovers, the deficit was down to one, 59-58.

The Lynx held the Aces to 5-for-15 shooting in the fourth quarter. Jessica Shepard's three-pointer with 15 seconds left gave the Lynx a 77-72 lead, and Brown finished off the Aces with two free throws with 5.7 seconds left.
