The Lynx waived Angel Robinson and Kachine Alexander, two rookie guards with Minnesota roots, and traded 6-5 center Quanitra Hollingsworth to the New York Liberty on Friday for the right to exchange third-round picks in the 2012 draft. Robinson played high school basketball for St. Paul Central, Alexander for Benilde-St. Margaret's.

Etc.• The Wild signed 2009 fourth-round draft pick Kris Foucault to a three-year deal. Currently in Houston of the AHL on an amateur tryout, the forward led the WHL's Calgary Hitmen with 25 goals and 48 points last season.

Harun Abda and Micah Hegerle for the Gophers men and Samantha Sonnenberg for the Gophers women advanced to the NCAA outdoor track and field championships based on their finishes in the NCAA West preliminary meet in Eugene, Ore. Abda ran a school-record time of 1 minute, 46.81 seconds in the 800 meters. Hegerle had a hammer throw of 207 feet, 3 inches. And Sonnenberg cleared 13-5¼ in the pole vault.

• Former Kansas City Royals player Shane Costa went 5-for-6 with two RBI as the St. Paul Saints beat the host Kansas City T-Bones 14-9.

• Minnesota State Mankato lost to California-San Diego 4-2 at the NCAA Division II softball tournament in Salem, Va. The Mavericks (54-15) play the winner of an elimination game between Indiana (Pa.) and Midwestern (Okla.) State at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
