The man who was struck in St. Paul by a light rail train over the weekend remains hospitalized in critical condition, a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.
The Green Line train hit Shah N. Alexander, 23 of Minneapolis, shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Lexington Parkway and University Avenue in St. Paul, causing delays in service.
Alexander survived the impact and was initially hospitalized in stable condition, said transit spokesman Howie Padilla.
Kristen Kaufmann, spokeswoman for Regions Hospital, said Alexander was in critical condition late Monday morning.

Padilla said no further information on how the incident occurred was available.
The "initial information is that the man was standing or crossing the tracks illegally," he said.
