ROCHESTER, Minn. — Police say a 13-year-old boy faces a felony charge of second-degree assault after scaring two 11-year-olds with a BB gun at a Rochester middle school.

KTTC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1vhv9LR ) Rochester Police Capt. John Sherwin said Wednesday the teenager was arrested this week after pulling out the BB gun while questioning the younger boys on Kellogg Middle School property. Sherwin says the BB gun looked like a semi-automatic handgun because its orange tip had been removed.

Sherwin says the teen approached the boys Monday while they were playing soccer after school to confront them about rumors. Sherwin says the boys were "extremely terrified" and one boy stumbled backward and fell.

School administrators found out about the incident Tuesday and police arrested the 13-year-old after finding the BB gun in his house.
