Horrors! If all photos of naked children are considered pornography (Letter of the Day, Aug. 29), my parents would be in big trouble were they living today. Our family album contains photos of me in the bathtub and some toilet training shots of me wearing only an undershirt.

As for my own dabbling in naked-children photography, our album contains photographs of my eldest, genitals obscured by his teddy bear, and a rear view of his naked baby brother sitting on a bed. Lighten up, folks.

Much as I abhor child pornography, families have long photographed their naked children without being accused of perversion. Since such accusations ruin lives, we should be very careful in defining what constitutes an offense.
