This is very minor compared to all the serious issues in our world today, but I thought that back in "twenty ten" the "thousand" would be dropped when we said what year it was. Evidently not! In 1913, we said "nineteen thirteen." This new year, "twenty thirteen" doesn't seem any different to me. Besides, it's easier to say. I know people who just will not drop the word "thousand." Is it more sophisticated or something? Anyway, happy 2013 to everyone!
