Jimmy Jam can talk. For hours. On many subjects. Anything from the NBA to Janet Jackson to racism to the Grammys to Prince to the Time, his former band.

Now the world will get to hear the Minneapolis-reared, Grammy-winning producer talk on "The Jimmy Jam Show," an hour-long monthly program on SiriusXM's Volume Channel (it's the one with all kinds of critics, musicians and fans talking about music, Channel 106).

Jam's show premieres at 6 p.m. Thursday with guests Questlove and Terry Lewis, Jam's longtime partner in their songwriting and producing business. The show will be rebroadcast several times during the weekend.

A press release for the new program promises conversations about the art of making and recording music. But don't be surprised if Jam expands the topics.
