That winning feeling
Jimmy Butler has never played on a losing team in the NBA:
2011-12: Butler played sparingly (42 games) for coach Tom Thibodeau as a rookie when Chicago went 50-16 but lost in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs to Philadelphia.
2012-13: Butler appeared in all 82 games for the Bulls (20 starts) as Chicago went 45-37 and won a first-round playoff series.
2013-14: Butler started to make his mark as a full-time starter, made the NBA all-defensive team, and averaged 13.1 points for a 48-34 team that lost a first-round playoff series.
2014-15: By now an All-Star, Butler averaged 20 points. The Bulls (50-32) lost in the Eastern semifinals and Thibodeau was fired.
2015-16: Chicago went 42-40 and did not make the playoffs under new coach Fred Hoiberg and Butler averaged 20.9 points.
2016-17: In Butler's best season — All-NBA, 23.9 ppg — the Bulls went 41-41 and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
2017-18: The Wolves, at 7-3, lead the Northwest Division.
