Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler spent part of the offseason working on a video with country singer Luke Bryan that was released Thursday morning.

You could say that it's Jimmy Butler like we've never seen him before.

According to the website tasteofcountry.com,: "The NBA player is apparently a country music fan who frequently attends Bryan's concerts. Butler plays the main character in the three-minute "Light It Up" clip, acting out the song's lyrics."

The website whiskeyriff.com says that Butler was seen at country shows in and around Chicago during the six seasons that he played for the Bulls before being traded to the Timberwolves over the summer.

Over the past few days, Bryan and Butler have been teasing the video of "Light It up" with a series of Instagram posts.

The short version: Butler plays a basketball player distraught that he hasn't received a text message from his girlfriend. There's an argument, concern about the relationship, a broken cell phone ... and a 32-point game by Butler with 10 assists and five steals in front of the home crowd.

Yes, there's even more, with the video alternating between Butler worrying about his relationship while doing basketball player things and shots of Bryan singing.

But is there a happy ending?

Take a look:

If you're not a country fan, maybe you'll find this video of Butler and Bryan more entertaining.
