Marcela Lorca

When Marcela Lorca was announced as the next artistic director of Ten Thousand Things, she mentioned she's a big Stephen Sondheim fan, and she's not wasting any time getting him on TTT's stages for the first time.

Lorca will make her TTT directing debut with Sondheim and James Lapine's fairytale-themed musical, "Into the Woods" Feb. 21-March 24, 2019. The cast will include Christina Baldwin, Rajane Brown, Aimee Bryant and Jim Lichtscheidl.

The season opens with Randy Reyes in the director's chair for Moliere's comedy, "Scapin," Oct.11-Nov. 4. The title character, a wily and pompous trickster (and, generally, a man) will be played by Sarah Agnew, with TTT veterans Joy Dolo, Elise Langer and Kimberly Richardson also cast.

"The Sins of Sor Juana" concludes the season May 17-June 9. Based on the life of a 17th-century Mexican writer, its cast includes Sun Mee Chomet, Jason Rojas and George Keller, under the direction of Lorca. It was written by Karen Zacarias, who wrote "Native Gardens," a hit at the Guthrie last sumer.

Tickets will be available in September.
