Details: Work is underway for Kraus-Anderson's redevelopment of its longtime downtown Minneapolis headquarters block. It will have a five-story corporate office building, 17-story apartment tower and a 158-room boutique hotel situated next to a brewery owned and operated by nonprofit craft brewer Finnegans Brew Co.

Included in the brewery building is a 13,000-square-foot event center and 12,000 square feet of office space for its "FINNovation Lab" business incubator. The "brewtel" element, called Finnegan House, combines the rapidly growing trends of the craft beer movement, collaborative work spaces, social entrepreneurship and experiential overnight accommodations. Finnegans, which has committed to donating 100 percent of its profits to charities for the working poor, will use the event space to "engage the neighborhood and the greater community," while the business incubator is meant to be "a hub for those passionate about social innovation, creativity and collaboration."

The brewtel complex is slated for the corner of S. 9th Street and 5th Avenue S. The hotel portion will be eight stories tall and the brewery five stories, with a connection provided by a two-story glass atrium.
