The Vikings need another new head strength and conditioning coach.

Brent Salazar, who was on Mike Zimmer's staff for 16 months, is leaving the Vikings to accept a position with the U.S. Tennis Association. The Vikings, who still have Salazar assistants Chaz Mahle and Derik Keyes on staff, will look to fill Salazar's head position before training camp.

Last February, the Vikings hired Salazar, who played on New Mexico's men's tennis team from 1998 to 2003. Before then, he had spent nine years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Chiefs.

Salazar's hire came after Zimmer and the Vikings parted ways with Evan Marcus, who in his two years leading the strength program had "too many players injured in the weight room," according to Zimmer.

Now, with Salazar taking a job with the USTA, Zimmer is looking for his third head strength and conditioning coach in four years here.

ESPN first reported that Salazar was leaving the Vikings for the USTA.
