A Green Line train hit a pedestrian in St. Paul on Friday afternoon, Metro Transit officials said.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of noncritical injuries, said Metro Transit spokesman Drew Kerr.

The accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. near the Green Line light-rail stop near Prior Avenue N. and University Avenue in St. Paul.

Officials had called for replacement buses, but the scene was cleared before they arrived, Kerr said.

The Green Line train was stalled for about 20 minutes and resumed service around 4 p.m., Kerr said.
